S$5.47K Trading Profits For May 26 To Pay For My Vacation Trip

While long-term investing is the bedrock of wealth, there is an undeniable satisfaction in hitting short-term trading goals that fund real-world experiences. May 2026 proved to be an incredibly rewarding month, locking in S$5.47K in trading profits as the market rebounded from the correction that started during the Iran War.

Things are slowly picking up after a slow start to the year where profits have been almost non-existent for the first 3 months of the year.

For the 5 months of 2026, my returns from options trading was almost flat while most of my profits came from shares trading. I have readjusted my trading strategy to focus on trading shares rather than options trading because I found it to be more profitable in last year. Furthermore, there is lower risk in owning shares than options contracts, due to the absence of theta (time) decay.

Some of my winning trades (shared on my Patreon page) include:

Profits from sale of IREN shares:
[29 May 26] +USD355.5 Profits, Taking Profits & Betting On SaaS Stocks

Cost of Holiday Trip: S$3927.83

In my June’s 8D7N overseas trip, the total expenses add up to a total of S$3927.83. So, with my May’s earnings of $5,470,00, it fully covers the expenses for my holiday trip.

Concluding Thoughts

While it is nice to have the profits to fund real-world experiences, I would be too optimistic to think that I would get this kind of returns every month. There will be lull months or even negative months if the market keeps correcting and goes into a huge pullback. For now, I do not have any plans to add on trading capital but instead will reinvest my profits to grow my portfolio, while managing the risk as the maximum loss is the capital that I set aside for this portfolio from the start.
