The US stock market has seen modest returns in the month of December and was down in mid month, before recovering towards the end of the month. The tech sector performed worse and was down more than 1.5% for the past month.
In spite of the general lackluster market performance, my trading portfolio returns was the 2nd highest since I restarted my portfolio in April 25 (see graph below).
This is hugely due to the profits made from these trades:
[29 Dec 25] +USD3551 Profits, Sold Rocketlab, Sofi & Meta Shares
[18 Dec 25] +USD530.55 Profits, Sold Micron, Palantir, Shopify Shares
I also had my SELL PUT on SMCI assigned early and thus, I recorded the premium received as part of my realised profits for this month.
[12 Dec 25] +USD863 Profits, Assigned SMCI Shares, Bought SMCI, RKLB Shares
53.68% Return on Capital Since April 2025
Ever since my restart of my trading portfolio back in April 2025, after the disastrous incident where I was liquidated and realised over USD400k of losses, my return on my capital is 53.68%, which I am truly thankful for.
From the above table, it also shows that I made more profits trading shares that trading options, and that is also explained by me taking a more conservative approach since restarting my portfolio, to allocate a higher percentage to owning actual shares than options contracts.
In my overall investment portfolio, more than 60% of my capital are in low risk assets such as SSB (bonds) and dividend stocks.
