November was the month that the US stock market started to correct, with a huge dip happening after Nvidia’s earnings. While the indexes (S&P, Nasdaq) managed to recover after the dip, many stocks were still far away from their 52-week high.
My profits for November 25 came mainly from taking profits on the shares that I trimmed in my portfolio. These stocks include SNDK, Alphabet, Micron and Nvidia.
I am thankful for the small gain, though it may not be as much as some of my previous months. A small gain is still a gain and I am grateful for that extra money (S$1.7k) coming in to supplement my single income.
With the latest gains, my portfolio has returned about 42.6% in the last 7 months and my trading capital grew from an initial S$60.6k to the present S$86.3k, due to the $25.8k profits that I have made since I rebuilt my portfolio is April this year (2025).
I added a further $13.5k from my reserves into this trading portfolio to make it a S$100k portfolio and the allocation of funds in the various asset classes is as follow:
My total investment portfolio stands at around $276k and more than 50% of my capital is inside the ultra safe bonds (SSB) that has both capital and interest guarantees. A further 7% is allocated into safe dividend stocks (DBS, UOB, CFA) for passive income.
The capital for my dividend portfolio current stands at around S$20k and my plan is for it to grow to S$100k in the future. At steady state, I would like to have the following capital allocations for my 3 investing buckets. I have already achieved the target for 2 of the buckets, SSB & Growth stocks (includes trading). So, my focus in 2026 will be to build up my dividend dividend stock portfolio.
