For friends who are interested in exploring earning a sideline income through blogging, this article may be useful to you. My blog income for the past 2 years, starting from January 2023, ranged between USD1 to USD10 monthly.
I wrote an average of 4 to 5 articles per month, spending around 30 mins to an hour per article. While the monthly income from blogging seems little, I was not putting in too much time and effort in writing the blog. I write only when there is something noteworthy, instead of flooding my blog with meaningless content.
It takes an accumulated total of USD100 or more before WordPress could pay out the blog income to me. For the period between Jan 23 to Oct 24, I have accumulated USD98.68. I will need at least USD1.32 in November’s income to hit the USD100 mark.
I managed to achieve that in November’s earning as I had USD3.84, which means I will receive my USD100 payout sometime in Jan 2025. That will be a good start to 2025 and something to look forward to, after waiting patiently to reach this milestone in 2 years.
Concluding Thoughts
To start earning income through WordPress, you will need to subscribe to a premium plan that cost about S$10 per month. There is also a domain fee for your website that cost about S$27 per year. That is the only pre-requisite to start earning on the WordPress platform through blogging.
While the income from blogging may not be a a lot, it is still a risk-free way to earn something through our time and effort. Whether it is worth it will depends on our ability to grow the income over time. For me, it is more like a part-time hobby than active source of sideline income that I wish to pursue. My biggest source of sideline income still comes from options trading which I have shared frequency on this blog.
